2008 AAAS Mentor Awards

The two categories of the AAAS Mentor Awards (Lifetime Mentor Award and Mentor Award) both honor individuals who during their careers demonstrate extraordinary leadership to increase the participation of underrepresented groups in the science and engineering PhD workforce. These groups include: women of all racial or ethnic groups; African American, Native American, and Hispanic men; and people with disabilities. Deadline: 31 July 2008.

Call for Proposals: Career Workshops at AAAS Annual Meeting

AAAS invites proposals for career workshops offered at the AAAS Annual Meeting, 12-16 February 2009 in Chicago. A diverse array of experts, entrepreneurs, educators, and policy-makers attend the meeting, which typically includes up to 10,000 participants and hundreds of members of the national and international media. In addition to plenary and topical lectures as well as a variety of special events, career workshops are offered each year. Deadline: 5 June 2008
