Research
and its Importance for the Higher Education Borislav
V. Toshev (Abstract) The political economy examines the relationship between the public and the private spheres. In the public sphere, the arena of politics, the dominant institution is the state; in the private sphere, the arena of economics, the dominant institution is the market. The system of higher education has either properties of a state agency or properties of a market structure. This paper attempts to outline the cornerstones of the political economy of higher education. |
