Какво представлява Eвросайънс?
Eвросайънс, учредена през 1997 г., е
пан-европейска асоциация на индивиди, стремящи се да изградят научна Европа “отдолу – нагоре”.
Тя представлява европейски учени от
всички дисциплини (вкл. социални и хуманитарни науки), от обществения сектор,
университетите, изследователските институти както и от бизнеса и индустрията.
Тя е отворена за научно-изследователските
кадри, научната администрация, определящите политиката държавни служители,
преподаватели, кандидати на науките, аспиранти, инженери, индустриалци, и по
принцип всеки гражданин, интересуващ се от наука, технологии и техните връзки с
обществото.
Целта на Евросайънс е да
1. Предоставя открит форум за дискусия за науката и технологиите;
2. Заздравява връзките между науката и обществото,
3. Допринася за създаването на интегрирано пространство на науката и технологиите в Европа,
4. Въздейства при определянето на политиката за развитие на науката и технологиите.
Eвросайънс има в момента 2100
членове в 40 европейски страни.
Тя работи чрез Работни групи и Регионални секции, организира конференции, работни срещи и други подходящи дейности (награди …) по теми, като например: Развитие на кариерата, Интеграция и
сътрудничество в сферата на европейската наука, Отговорност на учените пред
обществото, Етика в науката, Обществено осъзнаване на науката…
Освен това, тя работи за
засилване на влиянието си върху европейските власти и асамблеи, националните
правителства, както и предлага експертни становища при поискване. Целта е да
заздрави научното сътрудничество, отвътре и през всички европейски граници.
Други области на дейност се
развиват в отговор на предложения от членовете.

Като организация с идеална цел, EARMA съществува, за да
защитава и популяризира най-основните интереси на членовете си, като предоставя
услуги за професионално развитие, работа в мрежи и разпространение на
най-добрите практики в областта на изследователския мениджмънт.
Членовете й са представители на
обществени и частни научни организации от над 30 страни от Европа.
Дейността й включва курсове за
обучение, работни групи, годишни конференции, обмен на персонал, интерактивен
дискусионен форум и редовен бюлетин. Целта й е да бъде гласа на мениджърите в
науката при определяне на европейската научна политика.
EARMA е учредена в
Генова, Италия през 1995 г., със задача да популяризира ефективността на
европейската изследователска дейност.
Учредяването е предшествано от Първата
конференция за мениджмънт на съвместни европейски научно-изследователски
проекти (1994 г.), която признава необходимостта от работа в мрежа за
повишаване нивото на професионализъм в мениджмънта на науката.
Членство
Има две форми на членство:
-
обикновено – открито за индивиди – работещи на всички нива на управлението и
администрацията на НИИ, университетите, и индустрията; и
-
институционално членство – позволява на целия състав на научно-изследователската
организация достъп до EARMA и нейните
услуги
Съществуват облекчения за индивидуалните членове при организиране на
курсове и други.
В момента членския внос за обикновено
членство е 150 евро, а за институционално – 750 евро.
Днес в EARMA членуват 200 индивидуали и 60 институционални членове, свързани с
още над 1000 души заети в мениджмънта и администрацията на науката в цяла
Европа.

да поощрява високо-качествената наука на европейско ниво. Това е Европейската
асоциация на националните организации, отговорни за подкрепата на научните
изследвания.
Целта й е да действа като катализатор за развитието

Европейската асоциация на
мениджърите от индустриалните изследвания е независима организация, с идеална
цел. Целта й е да подркепя развитието на иновациите чрез по-ефективни пазарно-ориентирани
изследвания и развитие. Тя осъществява целта си чрез работа в мрежа и лични
контакти.
Ориентирана към своите членове,
тя предлага платформа за дискусия на идеи и обмен на практическа информация на
своите членове, така че във всеки един момент да е наясно какво мислят
мениджърите и от какво се нуждаят при изпълнението на функциите си. Дейността
на организацията подкрепя процеса на бенчмаркинг и подобряване на иновационния
процес, както и в осигуряването на добре управлявани и по-добре организирани
научни изследвания и развите. Тези дейности привръщат EIRMA в естествен първи
избор за контакт на определящите политиката държавни служители, както и други
търсещи мнението на бизнес-общността.
Учредена през 1966 г. в момента EIRMA
има 150 членове – фирми. Те са от над 20 страни и взети заедно финансират основната
част от инвестициите в бизнес начинанията за научни изследвания и развитие в
Европа.

The League of European Research
Universities (LERU) was founded in 2002 as an association of twelve
research-intensive universities sharing the values of high-quality teaching
within an environment of internationally competitive research. In 2006, membership
was extended to twenty institutions.
LERU acknowledges that Europe has lost its pre-eminent
position in basic research. Actions to restore that position for the
acquisition of new knowledge, for the assurance of high-quality education, for
the benefit of innovation in industry, and for the enhancement of quality of
life in society as a whole, are urgently needed. LERU wants to bring about
radical changes in the governance, management and funding of basic research in
Europe .
LERU advocates that specific funds be made available at the
European level and be administered by a new, to be erected European Research
Council that -in addition to existing regional, national and European funding
agencies- will support truly excellent fundamental research . These funds must
not be retrieved from the national research councils which, for the benefit of
education, must ensure research support of all national universities, and
allocation of these specific funds must not be based on the principle of
"juste retour". Excellence, proven in a system of open competition,
should be the deciding factor for allocating funds.
LERU firmly believes that research-intensive universities
should be major players in the process, associated with networks including
industry. The autonomy of universities must be enhanced.
LERU is strongly in favour of an integrated approach involving
basic, strategic, and applied research. Major universities, acting through
professional technology transfer offices, should become optimal partners for
industry, not-for-profit organisations, and society at large.
LERU does not promote the exclusive interest of its members,
but seeks to defend the interests of all that are engaged in top-level basic
research, and in the training of young scientists able to build and support
Europe ’s role as the leading continent of the knowledge-based 21st century
world.

Organizations
Effective innovation and R&D involves many people and
players: universities, business enterprises, institutions and governments.
Europe's overall competitiveness and innovation performace depends on how well
these players handle their own activities, and - increasingly - how well they
work together. By bringing people from different constituencies together, our
aim is to improve awareness and mutual understanding of the conditions and
approaches that will lead to improved performance.
We work with many groups - academic, research institute and industry
associations such as the European
University Association (EUA), the European
Association of Research and Technology Organisations (EARTO) and the European
Round Table of Industrialists, international organisations such as the OECD
and the European
Commission and the respective business groups, UNICE
and BIAC
- to develop this understanding and awareness. Our approach is consultative,
bringing together people who have a deep practical understanding of different
aspects of a subject to foster greater mutual understanding and awareness of
industry's activities and needs.
We also keep in regular contact with sister organisations around the world,
particularly the Industrial
Research Institute. This site provides links to these organisations and an
atlas of information on matters affecting industrial R&D management.
EIRMA is supporting several initiatives related to the European Research Area.
We are giving particular attention to the quality of university-business
R&D collaborations and Knowledge Transfer.

Eurodoc
EURODOC
is the European Council of doctoral candidates and young researchers. It takes
the form of a federation of national associations of Ph.D. candidates and young
researchers.
EURODOC's objectives are:

To represent doctoral candidates and
junior researchers at the European level in matters of education, research, and
professional development of their careers.
·
To advance the quality of doctoral
programmes and the standards of research activity in Europe.
·
To promote the circulation of
information on issues regarding young researchers; organize events, take part
in debates and assist in the elaboration of policies about Higher Education and
Research in Europe.

To establish and promote co-operation
between national associations representing doctoral candidates and junior
researchers within Europe.

EUROPROBE

EUROPROBE is a Lithosphere Dynamics programme, concerned with the origin and
evolution of the continents. It was conceived and has grown within the International Lithosphere Program
(ILP) and, since 1992, has been supported by the European
Science Foundation (ESF). This major venture is focused on, but not
confined to Europe.
EUROPROBE
is dedicated to carrying out a new generation of major projects that will
improve our understanding of the tectonic evolution of the Earth's crust and
mantle, and the dynamic processes which controlled this evolution through time.
EUROPROBE is an interdisciplinary program, combining surface observations
with deep geophysical and geochemical probing; applying, adapting and
developing the latest technology to obtain an integrated image of the whole
lithosphere. EUROPROBE has designed a range of multidisciplinary projects,
located in different parts of Europe, to investigate the origin and evolution
of continental lithosphere. Most of these projects concern orogenic processes:
on-going in the Carpathians and the Caucasus; Paleozoic in the Uralides, the
Trans-European Suture Zone and Iberia; Proterozoic and Archaean in the Baltic
Shield. Others focus on intraplate tectonics and, particulary, on the evolution
of sedimentary basins both in conjunction with cratonic rifting and with
orogenic activity along plate margins. All these projects are dedicated to
improving our understanding of the dynamic evolution of continental
lithosphere.

The Marie
Curie Fellowship Association

The Marie Curie Fellowship Association is the association of
scientists (Marie Curie Fellows) who were awarded a mobility research training
grant by the European Community. 15 new
Marie Curie Fellows joined the association since January 1st, 2006.
What is the Marie
Curie Fellowship Association?
The Marie Curie Fellowship Association is the Association of
scientists who have once been awarded a Marie Curie fellowship or other
European Community research training grant selected through a selection
procedure. A Marie Curie fellowship is a grant within a harmonized scheme under
one of the European RTD framework programmes to stimulate the training and
mobility of researchers in the European Community.

The Association is organised along hierarchical lines with
both regional/local groups, national groups and on an international level.
There are also horizontal structures such as committees
and working groups.
History
of the MCFA
The Association was launched at an inaugural seminar in Brussels in October 1996. This seminar was
organized under the auspices of the European Commission. During its first three
years the Association received a generous grant from the European Commission.
At the same time the Marie Curie Fellowships Unit at the Direction Generale XII
of the European Commission supported the Association with advice and logistical
help. Today there are still tight links between the Association representatives
and the European Commission.
The
international administration of the MCFA
All activities of the MCFA are co-ordinated on the
international level. The running of the Association lies in the hands of the Administrative
Board that is elected by the members of the Association at the Annual
General Meeting. The structure of the MCFA is laid down in the Statutes.
National
groups
The
National Groups are one of the pillars of the MCFA.
All national groups have their own co-ordinators for the
various national activities. These activities include meetings, advice on
contract problems, meetings with national government officials, marketing
articles and the like. For a list of national co-ordinators and links to the
national WWW pages, please have a look at our National
Co-ordinators Page. The national co-ordinators form the local
groups committee.
Regional group meetings are usually informal gatherings of fellows working in
large institutions, or living in large cities or within one region. They are
useful as social get-togethers, and for help with individual contract problems.
The MCFA aims at developing steady contacts with other
European scientific and science policy organisations. In collaboration with
other organisations we try to transmit the opinions and ideas of mobile high
level researchers and the obstacles to mobility they experienced during their
stay in different European countries.

Alfred Kastler – France
The Fondation nationale Alfred Kastler de l'Académie
des Sciences has two primary goals. First, the Foundation strives to help
foreign scientists have productive and pleasant stays in France by guiding them
through the process of planning their trips; helping them with the initial
difficulties of their stay, such as the red tape in obtaining visas and other
documents, as well as with the practical problems of everyday live in a foreign
country. Also, the Foundation endeavours to maintain contact with these
scientists following their return home. The Kastler Foundation most often works
with post-doctoral scientists and more senior visitors, but in certain cases it
will be able to help doctoral candidates. The Kastler Foundation works with
scientists of all nationalities and from the full range of scientific
disciplines, from experimental to social sciences. For more information please

Postgraduates International Network
The MCFA has also started a collaboration with Pi-Net,
which is as Eurodoc represented in the "Young scientists" working
group, founded at the Euroscience/EARMA conference in Budapest in June 2002.
