Scientisic Technology Potential of the entral and Eest Europe Countries

Abstract

The real status of  scientific technology potential  of Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Rumania, Hungary and Czech was analysed by means of  the benchmarking.  This analysis provided a possibility to construct an hypothetic model as an goal for Bulgaria. The indicators of this model are the followings: Researchers per 1000 workforce; percentage of women – scientists;  New  “Phd”, per 1000  habitants;  R&D Expenditure as % of GDP;  R&D Expenditure per researcher, euro; Publications per 1 mill. Habitants;  Patents  1 per 1 mill. Habitants;  ICT expenditures as  % of GDP; INTERNET users per 100 habitants.
