Scientific Potential of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences towards European Union

Abstract
The scientific potential of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) is revealed by means of the indicators in the input and the output of its activity. The human financial, information resources and necessary equipment are analyzed in the context of the association to European Union. Whole potential of Bulgaria and this one of BAS are shown. The state of the scientific potential of BAS according the following indicators – Number of Dsci and PhD, finance as a percentage of GDP, number of projects in the Frameworks Programs, number of publications, is better than the average for the country.
