Towards the Issue of the Scientific Potential and the Development of Young Scientists in Bulgaria

Abstract

Contrary to the world trends during the last 15 years the investments in education and academe in our higher schools decreased and retained a relatively low level in comparison to that in the EU and other countries, which served as a considerable thread to the national scientific potential as one of the essential prerequisites for the sustainable development of our economy. Hence the purpose of the present paper is to delineate the problems of the young scientists and the possible ways for their solution, as a main premise for consolidation of the national scientific potential. The problems of our educational system and of the young scientists in Bulgaria have been reviewed. Some ways for their solution and for the preservation of the scientific potential in Bulgaria have been offered. Some deductions have been made and a conclusion has been drawn.
